Travel to Dominica: America Airlines announced an increase in the number of flights

Travelling to Dominica is getting better. Two weeks after the commencement of direct flights from Miami to Dominica, operating twice a week from December 8, 2021, the America Airlines announced an increase in the number of flights to three from January 2022 and to seven per week from April 5, 2022. Direct flights allow travellers from 40 different international cities to book tickets in their home country and arrive in Dominica on the same day with all their luggage, equipment, and gear .

Hon. Denise Charles, the Minister of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives indicated that “this announcement and commitment to a daily schedule is a testament to American Airlines’ belief in the tourism product of Dominica and the growing demand for the destination’s unique low density, nature immersed, tourism product. Furthermore, the increase in weekly seat capacity aligns with our goal to aggressively increase stay-over visitor arrivals to 200K+ in 5 years”.

Currently, the Government of Dominica is negotiating with United Airlines, Air Canada and Delta Airlines to open direct flights to the country. “We are aggressively pursuing various methods to ensure that people can come to Dominica on the same day they depart from their country; it is very critical for our destination, so far discussions are advancing positively,” – reported Denise Charles.

Dominica is attracting attention as one of the safest places in the world to escape the daily challenges of a rapidly changing world. A comfortable climate, pristine nature, friendly population, and a stable environment in the country contribute to the active development of eco-tourism.

At the moment, the construction of the luxurious hotel Anichi Resort & Spa is underway, which is part of the Autograph Collection premium brand of the Mariott International hotel chain. This project is approved by the Government of Dominica and included in the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme, which affords an opportunity for foreign investors to obtain a second citizenship and diversify their assets.
